Obsess much?

I'm watching t.v., talking to someone, or more likely listening to a book on CD (right now it's Outlander by Diana Gabaldon) and I look down and I'm crocheting. I didn't even know I was doing it. I can't stop! I might need an intervention soon. I'm waiting for yarn burns to appear on my fingers. Everyone is getting something crocheted for the holidays. Send in your requests.
There are pics of two projects done at the bottom of the post.

Another thing I've been obsessed with are wikis. I can't get enough of them. I love pbwiki. (http://pbwiki.com/) There is another wiki site but I haven't ventured there yet, mainly because I can't remember what it is. In case you've never been to one, seen one, had one, a wiki is a site where, how do I say this, it's a web page that you set up and you can give the password to selected people (or anyone) and they can edit it also. Neat business tool, although I've never used it that way.

I opened one once for a kind of un-offical work hangout for my coworkers and I, but it died out. It was cool while it lasted. We had a recipe page, and a pet page, yada yada.

Over this last summer I opened one for my daughter who took a trip. I kept it private (verses public) and gave only my mom and daughter the password so we could all keep track of what needed to be done and her schedule. My mom would ask what kinds of food my daughter liked and we added a page of favorite foods with pics and recipes. Another page of it had her flight times (remember this was private only) so there would be no mix up.

Right now I have two separate wikis. One is for writing, where I have pages for the different stories I'm working on, a brainstorming page, favorite links I use as writing tools, and neat pics that give me ideas. No one has that password and I've kept it private. I opened it and put it online so I could get to my stories when inspiration struck and not have to wait until I got home and first kick off whoever is on the puter.

My second one is for all the different crafts I work on. Dollhouse, crochet (damn you crochet for sucking me into your yarny hell again), painting/drawing, the boxes I paint, sewing, etc. There's too many and I'm still not done setting up all the pages. It's fun though, I can keep track of stuff I've done, post pics, save patterns and links I like.

Okay....I'm obsessed. I admit it.

Here's what I did the past two weekends.

Hooded Scarf and I'm almost done with matching wrist warmers for it.

Another set of Wrist Warmers

What are YOU currently obsessed with?

Crocheting Madwoman

Update on my anonymous blog writing.

So far, so good. I've been posting at least once a week there with about fifty hits a day. That's a lot for me. The best part is that adrenaline feeling when I post something that is suppose to be taboo.

On other matters. I was showing someone how to do a double crochet this weekend, and I wasn't able to put it down. I haven't crocheted anything for a while, but my fingers just knew the rhythm.

I'm currently making a hooded scarf, started on Sat. and should finish by tonight. I'll post a pick of it. If you know any fun and/or challenging crochet patterns I would love to give them a try. I'm also looking for a pattern for a simple, delicate, ladies fingerless glove pattern. I have found tons that are basically a tube. I would like one that has the fingers on it without their tips.

Finally, there are some sites I would like to share. First one is a social bookmarking site. I don't actually share all my favorites, but it's a GREAT way to get to ALL your favorites from any computer with internet access.

WoW!!

I have neglected you blog, I am sorry.   Life happened, and you were put to the back burner for bigger things. I have found that the crap I really want to talk about and dish are things best left unblogged for the people that I like and know me. I wouldn't want them to look at me differently after....  The best part of a private journal is the no holds barred aspect. You kinda loose that when your mom reads your blog and then asks you what DP means. Ah well, maybe anonymous IS the way to go, that or hand write a diary again. I could try to get philosophical with you and compare the quality of friendships and relationships and how blogs interfere with them. Talking and passing stories in person and judging reactions and expressions instead of reading planned out words. How one's thoughts become generic to conform to how one wants to be perceived by all others as a group, instead of taking into consideration each personality that you communicate with. Even exploding thoughts and feelings to justify emotions and try to seem interesting to get that coveted comment.

That went off topic didn't it? Maybe it seems that I'm bashing blogging. I'm not. I love reading other's words and how they go from point A to point B in their lives. He graduated with honors, got the house, car, wife and kids, wrote the great american novel. Blogging is what happens between the lines, and that's the good stuff.

I know the truth of it. I've been unhappy with my blogging experience. First I tried to theme my blog. Writing and criticizing books and showing connections between what I was reading and my life. Then I got caught up in the html and the way everything looked. I tried just blogging the big things going on, sort of updating the world of my everyday doings. It's all left me unsatisfied.

So, here I am. Truly unable to blog. I should return to writing secrets on slips of paper and putting them in library books for others to find. Instead, I am going to experiement. It will be my last attempt at blogging. I'm going anonymous and bearing all. I'm not daring you to find me, that thought scares me. Perhaps I'm just updating for the last time. I'm not closing my account, I still love to read Your stuff.

Besides, I will have to tell you how "the experiement" is going.
